all i can say is, hurrah for the friday night sew in. oh, and the impending vacation for which this was a centerpiece of a fun outfit.
Pattern Description:
Semi-fitted, lined jackets A, B have stand-up collar, yoke, princess seams, front zipper and topstitch trim; jacket A has three-quarter length sleeves with sleeve bands; jacket B has optional jewel stones; jackets A, B have A/B, C, D cup sizes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
i never even looked at them, which may have been a mistake. i’ve got the princess seam jacket sort of down pat, so i just rolled with it.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
i liked the yoke, and of course the style lines–like a classic denim jacket you keep going to over and over. also, the basic style of it, especially the cropped sleeve version, reminded me of this:

and i’m a huge TVD fan. or at least i was, before they went all angelus on us this season. i’m still having majorly mixed feelings on that. but anyway…
Fabric Used:
sparkly denim camouflage with a bit of lycra, from mood.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
because mccall a/b, c, d cup patterns are absurd and sort of a waste–because, really, if you need an a cup, you need it as its own piece, because any member of the committee will tell you that a and b are not the same thing, darn it–i re-drafted the pattern using a princess line sloper i’ve developed.
i wish i had straightened the side panels a bit more, because there is a lot more hip flare than i was going for–there is some hip flare in the technical drawing, but this is nearing peplum territory.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
i’m already planning another version in a great asian-style silky thing inspired by everyone’s favorite space mechanic.

I love this! Beautiful work….
Really great jacket! I’ve been wanting to make this one for awhile. Your version is beautiful.
thank you both! it is a great little pattern that i am definitely keeping handy.
