casual fridays: mauverina top with purple cords

is it just me, or do fridays this time of year seem even harder than usual?  maybe it is because of the holiday season–many days at work are so slow as to seem like fridays, so the week seems longer, and all i can do is daydream about the comfy sweater and top i’d be wearing if only we didn’t have an office dress code…

so i’ve embraced two things on fridays this season:  skirts and boots, and not-jeans.  i’ve got ‘em in red, purple, turquoise and dark blue.  today’s a purple sort of day so i went with those.

top:  mccall  4096 in liberty of london mauverina
trousers:  purple (too-)skinny cords by RL Rugby
green belt
green shawl collar sweater
WWII army air corps sweetheart pins  (both grandfathers served)

also, it is that time of week again!

i had a decent run last week, but my cold got the better of me and sent me to bed after finishing a measly boned waistband, some hem marking, and the pinning and pleating of my pastille-as-skirt and the darts of my pastille-as-bodice.  this week i’m feeling super-energized to do a lot of finishing work:  i have no less than 5 projects on my desk, each with as little as half an hour’s work left on them, and then a smaller pile of bits that need some hand-stitching.  as the year winds down, i’m determined to start january with as few UFOs as posisble!  my only concern is that it is a gridlock alert day here in NYC.  wish me luck!
