after posting my 2013 thoughts, i stumbled upon this great idea from so i sewed this – she calls them “re-sew-lutions.” i completely agree with her that 2013 should be about enjoyment, and i hereby officially commit to working on these ideas to help me have the most fun and get the most out of my experience in 2013:

use awesome fabric.
- no crazy (self-imposed) deadlines.
- be less critical of finished projects. instead, enjoy the thrill of having finished.

there is always time for tummy time.
- to focus on enjoying sewing and not feel pressured to fill every corner of my closet with stuff i’ve made – i spotted this thought in an excellent and thought-provoking post at Dixie DIY.

napping is always a good idea.
- savor the projects that take a long time to develop…
- …but accept the pleasure and catharsis that a quick fix can bring

make sure the fabric coordinates with the fur.

Awww cute kitties! They look like they’re enjoying it too! I’ll add your link as soon as I get a chance to update
Great post! These are all such excellent goals– it’s too easy to strip away all the fun in sewing and be left with a chore.
i find myself in the “chore” category WAY too often for something that is supposed to be fun…
You know I’m down with this! I just can’t cope with un-fun, un-exciting sewing.
2013 shall henceforth be the year of the frosting diet.
