camp chanel recap: the most important takeaway of the week

hello friends!  last week i had the amazing pleasure of taking susan khalje’s classic french jacket class.  to call this class an indulgence is a huge understatement, but if you have the time investment and can afford the fee, it’s an indulgence well worth it!

my jacket-in-progress, circa thursday night

so let me share with you the most important thing we learned this week.

Bongo Bars
(recipe courtesy of m. mehn)

2 sticks unsalted butter
1 lb light brown sugar
3 eggs
2 ¾ cup flour
2 ½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
16 oz bag chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts, lightly toasted

Melt butter (I do this in the microwave in a large bowl). Add brown
sugar, stir well. Let cool, then add eggs one at a time. Add flour &
baking powder. Before all the flour is mixed in, add vanilla, chocolate
chips & walnuts. Batter will be thick.

Pour in 9×13 pan and bake at 350 for 35 minutes, until tests done

I was in Susan’s class the first week — my third class with her. It is my gift to myself! Love your jacket and lining fabrics! Can’t wait to see the finished product. (I was so glad to finish mine — and return to some faster projects!)

    I laughed out loud!
I drank the kool-aid, expecting a profound bit of stitching! Ah, we all need good nutrition! 😉
